Juan Velasco

In the 1940’s at age 16, Antonio Velasco began his journey in wine by moving to Toro, a town in which he saw his destiny to undertake a new life. He worked the territories of the region and learned the art and the business of wine.

In 1955 they acquired their first cellar and Antonio graduated from enology school in Rioja. Over the years the winery evolved from producing the traditional cask wines of the day into creating quality, bottled wine that evoke the unique terroirs. As the Toro region grew in respect, so did the wines of the Velasco family.

Today several sons of Antonio are involved in the business. In 1990 they inaugurated a new facility while introducing their Rejas and Garabitas wines, named after the local toresana countryside.
